Dollhouse Reveal: The Boy’s Bedroom (#8)

Next up is the boys’ bedroom. Right next to the girl’s room, this was the room that lost floor space for a hallway. I plan to eventually place a clear “wall” that will reveal how the room would look if there was a wall there.

DSCN4918I place the age of the boys’ room as young boys, somewhere in the range of 4 through 6. And being a boys’ room, the toys have been left out after playing.DSCN4919The desk is piled high with books and toys and a coloring book and colored pencils.DSCN4920This room was the recipient of my first attempt at the mini-blinds… I initially made them to use in the home office but didn’t realize that the windows are shorter up there. So just using white spray paint, I changed the color and hung them. I also created much of the toys… the blocks were just the remainders of the balusters that had to be shortened.DSCN4921The bedspread matches the valance box and was much as was the real kid’s room.DSCN4922Behind the left cabinet is a space that has a short ladder, allowing access to the upper section. In the real bed, the space had a door in front of it – as well as the other side – to give the illusion that it was solid and thereby creating a “secret” access.DSCN4923The carpet is a thick upholstery fabric that when laid in the room really looks like carpet! This one of three rooms that have carpeting.

I have quite a few rooms left, I think I am going to bunch up a few of them and make this reveal go a little faster. Hope you come back for more!
